Clarins Foundation Review

Do you have the slickest of oily skins?  Does your foundation fail to mattify?  Are you looking for a foundation that leaves your skin looking flawless, then check out these two beauties…..

clarins everlasting reviewclarins skin illusionsSkin Illusions and Everlasting Foundation by Clarins, contained in elegantly designed Gold Topped Bottles, are both superb foundations delivering wonderful coverage for a broad range of skin types.

As a busy makeup artist I carry a number of foundations in my kit and this pair are among the permanent residents. I find them fabulous to use on photoshoots, weddings and special occasions.

Everlasting Foundation works best on problematic skin with blemishes; combination/oily or  very oily skin. The mattifying formula has quite recently been updated and the new formula is fantastic.  It is one of the best foundations on the market (in my humble opinion) for people who suffer from oily skin.  The finish on this foundation is amazing, oil is absorbed and the skin is completely covered by this mattifying foundation.  Very little concealing is needed, even if you have minor outbreaks.  I’d give it a 9/10 for wearability and coverability and its well worth a purchase.  If you’re based in Dublin, I’d recommend you head off to Debenhams in Henry Street, where the fabulous sales assistant Valerie is a mind of information and extremely helpful.

lauraA point to note, I used this foundation on a recent shoot for the Irish Wedding Diary and my gorgeous model Laura, who had oily skin is wearing Everlasting in Honey.

Skin Illusions  is another favourite of mine and works wonders for Dry, Dehydrated and Normal skin types.  It comes in fourteen colour combinations (in fact so does the Everlasting) so there is definitely a shade to suit most.  Again, as the name implies the coverage gives the illusion of perfect skin..something we all are looking for.  Really, though it does give good cover and it’s buildable from a medium to  a full-cover base and best of all…it lasts all day. I use it regularly along with Everlasting on shoots, for photographic work and weddings.  An easy 8/10 for this foundation.
