A trial is a collaboration between makeup artist and the bride-to-be. At the end of the day, you, the Bride, must feel comfortable with the finished look. It’s the job of your makeup artist to perfect the look you desire, and ensure the application will last a full day going into night.

If you want to change your look in the evening all you will need is one eyeshadow, a kohl eye pencil, a lighter lipstick, or simply lip-gloss to fire up to look! On request I show my future brides how simple this stronger application is and will show you how easy it can be below.

Step 1. To ensure the makeup will last I assess the skin type of my client. Whether dry, normal, combination or oily, I cleanse, tone and moisturise with products to suit the skin.

Step 2. Prep and prime; the primer has to match skin type.

Step 3. The most important step is choosing the correct foundation to suit the skin type. These three important steps ensure that the foundation will last the full day.

The theme for Aisling was ‘Boho’ and to create this look we went for a natural look with good definition; from experience this is the most popular look for most brides. I wanted to create two looks to show you ladies how simple it is to jazz up your makeup with three simple steps for the evening.

I used eyelash extensions for both looks. It is up to you whether or not you would like lashes for your wedding day. Most of my clients opt for individual eyelash extensions but the choice is always my clients. The foundation I chose for Aisling was Mineralize Moisture Foundation by MAC and the concealer I used for under Aisling’s eyes was Instant Concealer by Clarins.

It’s as important to prep the eyes, a good eye base means the colour will last all day. Once prepped it is time to apply the eyeshadow. For Aisling’s green eyes I chose Bronze to contour, Rice Paper on the lid, Shroom over the brow bone, and Nylon on the inner corners to light up the eyes, with a little under the arch of the eyebrow. All shades are by MAC Cosmetics (the Coffee Eyeliner and Zoom Lash Mascara are also by MAC).

I contoured Aisling’s face with the new Makeup Forever Contouring Kit and blushed up the apples of her cheeks with Peaches by MAC. I then highlighted the temples with Soft and Gentle Highlighteralso by MAC.

No makeup look is complete without a lick of colour on the lips. I stuck to my bronzed boho theme by outlining the lips with MAC Spice Liner and filling with a lash of Jest Lipstick by MAC.

For the second more dramatic look, in three easy steps I simply:

  1. Deepen the colour around Aisling’s eyes with the Bronze shadow, sweeping a strong application under the eyes.
  2. I applied my favourite black Kohl eyeliner by Clarins on the inner rim of the eyes, both up and down.
  3. And finally, I used a more natural lipstick for this look, lining with MAC’s Boldly Bare Liner and filling with Hug Me Lipstick also by MAC. Two defining and luxurious looks for one life changing day.

Aisling Hamill styled her own hair and kept the hair uber romantic with this soft, textured upstyle. This look oozes femininity and is bang on trend for 2016. “Waves are so wearable and can be glammed up by adding volume as seen here. For a more relaxed feel, brush out the curls and add a braid or fresh flowers to achieve that boho vibe,” recommends Aisling.
