Makeup before and after look Afric Corrigan.

October 14, 2016

Lets begin…. Affric has combination skin after cleanse and tone, I applied La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo (+) moisturizer, I primed with Effaclar Duo Unifiant. I have used both together on every client with oily combination and problem skin without exception to great effect, since its launch a couple of months. I highly recommend this amazing product.

Prep and Prime done, I applied MAC Studio Fix Foundation with a Makeup Forever Foundation brush 108, this tool is the love of my MUA life, I kid you not!! Tip, I always leave setting my foundation till last, this gives me time to see its performance i.e. if the foundation is the most suitable for my clients skin (I carry 10 of the top foundation ranges in my kit)

Foundation on, I primed Affric’s eyelids with another favorite of mine Clarins Instant Light Eye Perfecting Base, with a dusting of powder over the base.

Ready for EyeShadow…..

Affric’s, ball gown was midnight blue, to bring out her brown eyes I applied Naval, a deep blue shadow by MAC, deep onto the socket cease and blended well, I then swept Naval under her eyes with a MAC Pencil brush.

For the eyelids and the inner corners of the eyes I reached for an iridescent shade Phluff also by MAC to light up the eyes, Shroom worked well for the brow bone. Tip, never apply an iridescent shade on the brow bone, its far to shiny in photos, and lets face it we are constantly taking photo’s with our mobiles not to mention selfies! However a little under the arch of the brow looks great.

A deep blue eyeliner by the Body Shop over the upper lash line worked to intensify the blue shadow. For the water line of her eyes I used a Clarins kohl liner, with lashings of Clarins Black Mascara. The piece de resistance for the modern day gal is eyelashes! I rarely use strip lashes, I find them false looking and heavy, my preference is individual lashes a little more difficult to apply but in my opinion well worth the trouble.

Brows. Affric was adamant not too much change just a fill in, for this I used the Clarins Brow Kit.

Eyes done,  time to set the foundation…….

First I looked to the dark circles under Affric’s eye. I patted on a little Clarins Instant Light Concealer in No2;

I started the first part of contouring at this point. I highlighted the high points of Affric’s face; this was done with YSL Touché Éclat first a dab in the middle of the forehead. Then, I swept it under her eyes and down each side of the nose   and a little on the corn each corner of the mouth, ending with a dab of Touché Éclat on the chin.

Time to set the base; I always use two powders, white Prep’n’Pime by NAC for underneath the eyes, for Affric’s combination skin I set the foundation with MAC Blot powder

A shot of all products use on the look.
