Positive reviews are accurate: it is an effective gentle abrasive that does not crumble and conveniently penetrates everywhere (I use it to file and shape the skin around my nails - it is delicate and gentle). The coarser side files the nail slightly faster than the glass file from Makeup, but still gently (for natural medium-soft nails). The price is excellent, and the quality is great.
