Time has passed: I thoroughly tested the purchased Loewe Esencia Pour Homme 100ml. It turned out to be a new version. The label on the bottle is white, unlike the old one, which was yellow.
I found the old cologne. I tested it together with the new one.
It does resemble Loewe Esencia Pour Homme, very much so in the first few minutes, but it is still not the old good Pour Homme.
I went to the official LOEWE Perfumes page and confirmed that the notes are completely different: Top notes: Calabrian bergamot, Calabrian lemon, and tarragon.
Heart notes: Lavender, Bourbon geranium, and nutmeg.
Base notes: Mysore sandalwood, amber styrax, Java vetiver, and musk.
Where are the Green notes? Where is Jasmine, Lily of the Valley, Rose? Where are the Pine needles, finally? They are not there! They are also absent in the fragrance.
Yes, the first hour or two it smells quite nice. Yes, the scent still looks expensive. But... it lacks in longevity.
Still, this is not Loewe Esencia Pour Homme. It is another fragrance disguised as the old one.
My verdict: these are different fragrances, and the names should have been different as well. But the manufacturer decided to exploit the old famous Esencia Pour Homme and ruined the impression.
