L'Heure Bleue Eau de Toilette by the fragrance house Guerlain has a charm that begins with its name, which translates directly as "The Blue Hour" or more poetically as "Twilight". This masterpiece of perfumery art was created in 1912 by Jacques Guerlain. The perfume belongs to the floral fragrances category, yet it features such a rich composition, including woody and spicy shades, that it should not be simply regarded as a typical floral bouquet.
The initial notes greet us with spicy anise and coriander combined with bright, juicy citrus – bergamot, lemon, and neroli, which then give way to a vast variety of floral shades. The heart of the perfume contains scents of carnation, orchid, jasmine, neroli, heliotrope, ylang-ylang, and Bulgarian rose. The base woody notes, which lend the carefree flowers a sense of wisdom and monumentality, include the aromas of sandalwood, musk, iris, benzoin, vanilla, and vetiver.
