It's hard to believe that the fragrance Royal Bain De Caron by the French perfume house Caron was released over 60 years ago. Even after so many years, it remains as captivating and vibrant, and just as unique in its whimsical nuances. The perfume lends a distinctive individuality and a special, refined charm.
Lovers of oriental-floral compositions - of both genders, as this is a unisex fragrance - will find it impossible to resist the enchanting scents of lilac and rose that open the perfume. The 'heart' melody is very lingering and enveloping, with balsamic softness achieved through the blend of benzoin and frankincense. The resin of opoponax adds an extraordinary nobility to the entire fragrance pyramid. The ambery-musk resinousness, combined with rich woody-spicy chords of piquant vanilla, unobtrusively sweet sandalwood, and white cedar, creates a pleasant delicate resonance that, fading away, leaves behind a tantalizing enchanting aura.
Caron is always at the top of its game. The fragrances of this brand are a prime example of the highest quality perfumes for nearly 100 years now. Caron Royal is the precursor that later inspired other brands to release scents such as Kenzo Flower and Montale Powder Flowers.
A soft powdery lipstick rose with hints of vanilla. It leans more towards being feminine rather than masculine.
I really liked the scent. It's sweet, rich, and resinous, perfect for cold weather. It's not an evening fragrance, rather more of a cozy, homey one. I enjoy using it to freshen up towels. The bottle doesn't have a spray, which makes it a bit inconvenient to open the inner stopper. I pour it little by little into a atomizer.
