Ultra Strong Hold Hair Styling Clay Reuzel Clay Matte Pomade Extreme Hold

This is the best hair styling product I've ever used. I bought the pink grease and this extreme hold as I wasn't sure which would suit my hair type (fine wavy hair but lots of it) and the water based definitely suits me best. I would think the oil based works better for thick hair. I've tried every product I could get my hands on and none were strong enough thanks to my several cows licks and poofy hair but this works perfectly. Have just bought the biggest tin available!

I decided to try this product. The first thing that stands out is the smell. The smell is a matter of personal preference: strong notes of oil or something greasy. I didn't like it.

Let's start with the hold. It's about a 7/10. Not bad.

After application, it's not very matte, maybe a 2/10. For a matte effect, I recommend waiting about 5 minutes for the product to set and dry. Then, run your clean hands through your hair again to refresh the style. In this case, the matte effect would be 9/10.

A big plus of this pomade is that it doesn't make the hair sticky. You can't feel the product on the hair.

The hairstyle remains flexible throughout the day. You can touch it up at any moment.

The fixation is light, not very long-lasting.

The worst styling product I have ever used. Extreme hold? More like between light and medium. It applies very easily, but doesn't hold at all (hair length 7-9 cm, classic undercut). Doesn't hold with pre-styling on wet or dry hair, it all falls apart. By the way, it's not even matte as claimed. Blue Ruzel is much better, I do not recommend buying this one to anyone.

I expected more from a well-known brand. After using the Estel cream-paste, which has a decent hold, Reuzel only provides slightly stronger fixation. To achieve a stronger hold, you need to apply a lot of product, but then the hair looks unnatural and clumpy. In hot weather, the wax melts and the volume disappears quickly. I've tried different application methods, and it works best on damp hair as instructed. It's impossible to apply on dry hair, as it breaks the hair. It doesn't completely wash out with water, and if you apply the product on the second day, your hair will become greasy and unruly.

Holds its shape excellently throughout the day.
