- Shields nail plates from mechanical impact.1. Prepare your nails using a manicure set. Shape the nails as desired and push back or remove the cuticles with a trimmer, scissors, or a cuticle remover.
2. Buff the nail surface. It’s not necessary to file them as extensively as you would for nail extensions, but ensure they are smooth so the gel adheres better.
3. Apply a nail cleanser and let it air dry. Avoid touching your nails with your fingers or anything else afterward.
4. Apply a clear base coat. The layer should be neither too thick nor too thin. Cure it under a lamp for the time specified in the product instructions. Use a lint-free wipe to remove the sticky layer.
5. Apply a single layer of colored gel polish. Cure under the lamp and remove the sticky layer. If the color is not intense enough, apply a second layer and repeat the curing process. Do not apply a thick layer all at once, as it may wrinkle or crack under the lamp.
6. Apply one layer of top coat gel and cure under the lamp for the recommended time. Your manicure is now complete.
