Before using the cup for the first time, sterilize it by boiling it in water for 3-5 minutes. Be sure to wash your hands with soap beforehand. Fold the cup; there are different folding methods, so you can try a few and choose the one that works best for you. Insert the folded cup and let it expand inside the vagina. After insertion, the cup will open with a characteristic suction or popping sound, indicating that it is properly positioned. If you have doubts, feel the base of the cup—it should be round or oval when correctly inserted. If you feel dents or folds, it means the cup hasn’t fully opened. Gently grasp the base of the cup (not the stem) and try turning it to create a suction seal. Once it’s in place, gently pull on the stem; if you feel resistance, the suction seal is established, and the cup is successfully installed!
