Before using the cup for the first time, sterilize it in boiling water for 3-5 minutes. Be sure to wash your hands with soap beforehand. Fold the cup. There are different folding techniques you can try, so experiment and choose the one that works best for you. Insert the folded cup and allow it to open up inside the vagina. Once inserted, the cup will pop open with a characteristic suction or popping sound, indicating it is properly positioned. If you're unsure, feel the base of the cup — it should be round or oval when correctly inserted. If you notice dents or indentations, the cup hasn't fully opened. Gently grasp the base of the cup (not the stem) and try to rotate it to create a suction seal. Once in place, give the stem a slight tug; if you feel resistance, the suction is established, and the cup is successfully in position!
