However, specialists from the German brand MeLuna have managed to reduce the demand for pads and tampons by replacing them with more practical, economical, and environmentally friendly menstrual cups. These convenient products are distinguished by their ability to be used multiple times, easy sterilization, and high-quality materials that do not pollute the environment. Before using the cup for the first time, sterilize it in boiling water for 3-5 minutes. Make sure to wash your hands with soap beforehand. Fold the cup. There are different folding methods you can try to find the one that works best for you. Insert the folded cup and allow it to expand inside the vagina. After insertion, the cup will open with a characteristic suction or popping sound, indicating that it has been properly positioned. If you're unsure, feel the bottom of the cup—it should be round or oval when correctly inserted. If you notice any dents or folds, the cup hasn't fully opened. Gently grasp the base of the cup (not the stem) and try to rotate it to create a suction seal. Once it's in place, gently tug on the stem; if you feel resistance, the suction is established and the cup is successfully inserted!
