The exfoliation almost does the job. As for me, it's very gentle. To get rid of dry skin in winter, you need a lot of this exfoliator, so it's not economical. But it's not chemical like many others.
I haven't found a better solution for very dry hands in winter, although this one is not a 10 out of 10, so I recommend this and will continue to purchase it.
