"Removes yellowing, but does not tone into blonde."
Yellow works great for cleaning, but I don't see any tinting.
I did balayage on my natural hair and started using this mask and shampoo. It removes the yellowish tone well, but the toning effect is almost non-existent. So I decided to try Kerastase: the toning effect was just wow, but it made my natural hair turn yellow and it was horrible. I switched back to Lakme after a week. I give it few stars because the toning is almost non-existent, it needs to be left on for about 20 minutes (if less, there will be no effect at all) and the mask is very expensive.
I used the old version of this series' mask and shampoo, and I really liked the effect on my lightened hair. Now I bought it again, after the manufacturer supposedly changed the formula to a 'vegan' one, and for some reason, the effect is completely different. I don't see any ashiness at all after using it. On the contrary, it seems like my hair only becomes more reddish. The color of the product itself used to be purple, now it's closer to blue.
