During the day, apply a high SPF50+ sunscreen and avoid prolonged sun exposure. It's also important to remember that when using retinal, your skin requires extra hydration and regeneration.
Start using retinal with a lower concentration, such as 0.07%, whether you are using it for the first time or resuming after a long break.
Introduce retinal gradually over the first two weeks by applying it every 4-5 nights. Over time, decrease the interval between applications by one day.
Apply the serum once a day, only in your evening routine, to clean and dry skin, avoiding the eye area.
In the beginning, apply retinal yourself to monitor your skin’s reaction. About 30-40 minutes after applying retinal, you can apply a moisturizing and regenerating product, such as a ceramide serum and/or a lipid cream for winter.
During the first few weeks of using retinal, you may experience redness, dryness, irritation, or peeling of the skin – these are signs that your skin is building tolerance to the active ingredient.
Switch to a higher concentration of retinal once your skin can tolerate the lower concentration at least 4-5 times a week.
Increase the concentration gradually to build skin tolerance – start by applying it every 4 days, then progressively increase the frequency.
Using retinal year-round is permissible, but you should stop using it about 4 weeks before any planned extended sun exposure.
