Before applying the alginate mask, thoroughly cleanse your skin. You may apply an additional product under the mask, such as a serum, emulsion, essential oil blend, or wrap, tailored to address specific skin concerns. The pressure from the mask helps these products penetrate the skin more effectively. Once the applied product is absorbed, proceed with applying the alginate mask. Just before use, mix the alginate mask powder with room temperature water in a 1:1 ratio. Ensure the mixture is smooth and free of lumps, and apply it quickly to prevent it from setting prematurely. The mask should have the consistency of thick sour cream. Use a spatula to apply a thick layer of the mask to the skin. Within the next 10-15 minutes, the mask will take on a rubber-like texture and slightly decrease in volume, a process known scientifically as plastification. The alginate mask does not need to be rinsed off with water. After 30 minutes, it can be easily removed as a flexible cast that conforms to the contours of your face or body. Remove it in one motion, starting from the chin and moving upward to the forehead. The mask does not stick to hair, eyelashes, or eyebrows, making removal easy. After removing the mask, wipe your face with a toner suitable for your skin type. If you did not apply any cream, serum, or other cosmetic product under the mask, you can do so after its removal.
