Normal brush. Not very convenient for distributing highlighter, but made with good quality.
As for a shimmer, it's too soft. I have a fan brush for that. I intentionally bought this one for a veil, knowing that it's soft. It highlights very well and doesn't provide too much color because it doesn't take it on itself. Like a butterfly. The brush is pretty and pleasant.
