The smell is just like surface cleaning powder. I quickly got rid of it because of my child.
I haven't tried it yet, but the fragrance is amazing!
This soap is excellent. It lathers well, doesn't dry out the skin, has a pleasant scent, and doesn't turn into a mush in the soap dish. I use it as a body soap and although I'm not certain if it's specifically for children, it's definitely worth the price.
