To ensure optimal adhesion of any polymer material—be it gel polish, gel, or acrylic—to the nail plate, a special preparation is required. This involves using a buffer and applying dehydrating and adhesion-promoting products. Additionally, this manicure tool is useful for the final stage of removing the coating.

The buffing block from the Ukrainian manufacturer "Handmade" features a grit level of 100 x 400. It can be used to remove residual polymer products with its coarser side, as well as to create the necessary nail surface texture before applying a base coat using the finer-textured side. Its soft base allows for even treatment of the nail plates and helps reduce excessive pressure.
