Mix the paint and the developer in a 1:1.5 ratio.
If you need an ultra-lightening formula, use a 1:2 ratio.
Choose the developer based on the desired result:
3% — for coloring tone-on-tone or darker
6% — for lightening by 1-2 tones
9% — for lightening by 2-3 tones
12% — for lightening by 3-4 tones.
Mix the components in a glass, plastic, or ceramic container just before application. Do not use a metal container or tool. The final mixture should have a smooth, creamy consistency.
