Ozokerite is a natural substance derived from petroleum. When heated, it resembles wax. Upon extraction, the substance can have either a waxy texture or appear as a solid, dark-colored mass similar to gypsum. It is used for medical purposes in sanatoriums and rehabilitation centers. Due to its high melting point and low thermal conductivity, compresses made from this substance help improve blood circulation, metabolism, and tissue regeneration, as well as boost immunity.Ozokerite therapy is indicated for inflammatory processes in the joints (arthritis, arthrosis), chronic sciatica, contractures, osteochondrosis, and neuritis. For more detailed advice, please consult a specialist.
Method of application: It is also used for cavity treatment in the form of rectal and vaginal tampons at temperatures of 55-60°C. The choice of treatment method depends on the form of the disease, the location of the process, and the phase and stage of the illness. Typically, procedures are conducted daily or every other day, lasting from 15 to 30-40 minutes, with a treatment course of 10-20 sessions. After the procedure, a rest period of 30-40 minutes is recommended.
Treatment courses can be repeated with intervals of no less than 3-4 months. Ozokerite can be combined (alternating procedures) with galvanization or electrophoresis, ultrasound therapy, light therapy, massage, therapeutic exercises, and general mineral baths.
