Generously apply shaving cream or shaving oil to your face, then hold the razor with the open handle facing away from you. Use your free hand to stretch the skin on your face, creating as straight a surface as possible. Position the blade at an angle of about 30° and gently scrape your beard. Begin shaving in the direction of hair growth, then across, and finally against the grain.
During shaving, avoid rinsing the blade under running water. It's much better to use a lint-free towel prepared in advance, as moisture can damage the blade and hinder the razor's glide. After shaving, ensure the razor dries thoroughly. Use a strop for honing and sharpening the blade.
