The Menopause Test is a rapid test designed to detect the Follicle Stimulating Hormone (FSH) in urine at a concentration of 25 mIU/ml or higher. The test is simple to perform: just introduce 3 drops of urine into the test plate window and read the result within 3 minutes.
Indications for conducting the test:
- Fatigue;
- Hot flashes;
- Mood swings;
- Discomfort;
- Dry skin;
- Joint pain;
- Decreased libido.Menopause typically occurs between the ages of 45 and 55. During this time, the production of estrogen and progesterone decreases, while levels of LH and FSH increase. The test works by detecting elevated levels of FSH hormone in the urine of women in perimenopause. Menopause is defined as the last menstrual period in a woman's life, followed by 12 months without bleeding. It is a significant event in a woman's life, the date of which can only be confirmed after some time. Symptoms preceding the last menstruation begin 2-3 years earlier and persist for several years after the onset of menopause. This entire period is referred to as menopause or the menopausal transition. During the pre-menopause and 12 months after its onset (perimenopause), many women experience discomforts such as hot flashes, night sweats, dry skin, joint and bone pain, pain during intercourse, recurrent urinary tract infections, episodes of urinary incontinence, insomnia, fatigue or depression, irritability, and reduced libido. During menopause, reproductive functions cease—ovarian activity stops, leading to a decline in female sex hormone production, primarily estrogens. Consequently, the body increases the production of Follicle Stimulating Hormone (FSH). Measuring FSH levels aids in diagnosing menopause.
