The test is designed for the rapid and qualitative detection of leukocytes, blood, nitrites, and protein in human urine, delivering results in just 2 minutes. Urinary tract infections are the most common ailments of the urinary system, which includes the urethra, bladder, ureters, and kidneys. They can occur in men, women, and children. Urinary tract infections are more frequent in women due to the shorter urethra, which facilitates the passage of microorganisms. However, infections also occur in older men, where an enlarged prostate can obstruct urine flow. In healthy individuals, urine is sterile (i.e., free of microorganisms). One of the best ways to maintain the sterility of the urinary tract is to regularly empty the bladder. Typically, an infection begins in the urethra and can then spread to the upper urinary tract and kidneys. Symptoms can vary significantly: burning during urination or a strong urge to urinate. The urine may also appear cloudy or have a strong odor.
