The balm moisturizes adequately. HOWEVER, be careful as it slightly tints the lips. Unaware of this (without a mirror), I applied the peach shade. I noticed that people started looking at me suspiciously, and upon looking in the mirror, I immediately understood why. The orange hue doesn't look catastrophic on the lips, actually quite decent, BUT only on the lips.
