The cream does have a brightening effect, but it doesn't burn anything; it has a long-lasting cumulative effect. It is better to apply it at night as it leaves a glossy film on the face and accentuates pores. However, in the morning, the skin looks nourished and smooth. It helped me reduce the size of pigmentation spots, but since I have combination skin, I used it during the winter when my face doesn't sweat and I wanted additional moisturization. I don't recommend using it in the summer as it tends to stay on the pillow and takes quite a while to absorb. However, the brightening and smoothing effect on the complexion is indeed present.
